A Night Stalker Crewchief fires an M134 Minigun mounted in the cabin of an MH-47 Chinook helicopter. The minigun is mounted on helicopters throughout the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment’s fleet of helicopters; the AH-6 Little Bird, the MH-60 Black Hawk, and the MH-47 Chinook. Its high rate of fire makes it an ideal weapon for suppressing the enemy during an insertion or extraction in a hot landing zone.
